MTV: The New Generation
by Erin DelaneyAs many of my more perceptive peers may have noticed, a television has sprung up in the atrium overnight. Whether a gesture of the underground society of leprechauns, the one that my brother has recently gone missing while investigating, or some evil ploy by the school to distract us from the disuse of our Mac lab, the TV seems to have excellent potential for the student body.
While talking to our well-groomed (fashion specialist) Mr. William McGough, I gained some valuable insight into how sinister this plot to plant a media device in the midst of our school really is. Last year, the SFL acquired a grant that allowed them to purchase an LCD information display that could be used in the atrium. The ticker at the bottom displays school news and announcements, while upcoming events are displayed on the right hand side. The television will cycle through videos, most of which have yet to be added.
Mr. Angottta asked Mr. McGough to work on this project last year, and thus our brave “television monitor” did research on the pricing of hardware, took charge of the order and installation, and, being a super-genius fashionista, wrote the software for the board. Will introduced MTV (McGough Television) about a week ago to the masses huddled together in the atrium. Most of us, who had not even noticed the installation, were curious and surprised at this new form of MTV: the next generation. Less rapping, more McGough. Will did not suggest this when I interviewed him, but personally I think you should all call him up and tell him how awesome it would be if he did special fashion segments for the monitor…This is greatness in the making.
